Breeze Airways Marks One Year at PTI

Jun 1, 2026 | Blog, Featured, Newsroom

This month, PTI proudly celebrates the one-year anniversary of Breeze Airways’ arrival — an exciting milestone that expanded nonstop travel options and brought low-fare service to travelers across the Piedmont Triad.

Breeze launched service at PTI in June 2025 with nonstop flights to Orlando, Florida, and Hartford, Connecticut, adding a fresh new option to the airport’s growing passenger service lineup. With twice-weekly service to Orlando International Airport and Hartford’s Bradley International Airport, Breeze has given both leisure and business travelers more convenient ways to connect while flying close to home.

For PTI, Breeze’s first year represents more than new destinations. It reflects the airport’s continued commitment to growing convenient, affordable air service for the region and creating more opportunities for local travelers to begin their journeys at PTI. Breeze’s “Seriously Nice” approach to flying — including affordable fares, flexible travel options and no change or cancellation fees — has resonated with passengers throughout the Triad.

“Breeze has been a fantastic addition at PTI, and we’re grateful for the strong support this service has received from our community during its first year,” said Kevin Baker, Executive Director of the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority. “Every new route and every new carrier strengthens the choices available to Triad travelers. Our message remains simple: when local passengers choose PTI, it helps us continue building the case for even more service in the future.”

While Orlando remains a favorite destination for many travelers, Breeze’s arrival also introduced the Triad to Hartford, Connecticut as a surprisingly vibrant getaway. Through a creative mix of stories and videos, PTI’s marketing team showcased a two-day Hartford experience beginning just moments after landing at Bradley International Airport. Highlights included the Mark Twain House & Museum, the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Hartford’s thriving downtown dining scene, riverfront parks, nearby vineyards and easy access to destinations across New England. PTI also spotlighted Mohegan Sun, one of the nation’s premier casino and entertainment destinations, as part of the broader Hartford travel experience.

Breeze’s arrival at PTI also aligns naturally with the airport’s continued growth as an innovative aerospace hub. Breeze Airways was founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, whose leadership also helped launch JetBlue, Azul and WestJet — bringing a spirit of innovation and customer-focused service that fits well with PTI’s forward-looking vision.

As Breeze begins its second year at PTI, travelers are encouraged to explore available flights at flybreeze.com and continue supporting local air service.

For passengers across the Piedmont Triad, the message is clear: supporting PTI helps create more local options for everyone. Breeze’s successful first year is another strong example of how choosing PTI helps strengthen air service throughout the region.
