Manufacturing, Maintenance and Repair

Piedmont Triad International Airport is a leader in aviation manufacturing, maintenance and repair service with a dozen companies at or near the airport engaged in such activities.

In addition to our fixed-based operator – Signature Flight Support – the following companies have discovered the benefits of our airport:

Honda Aircraft Company established its world headquarters at our airport in 2006. This new division of Honda Motor Company will manufacture the innovative HondaJet, a light business jet. The company has also constructed manufacturing, research and repair and maintenance facilities at the airport. The manufacturer of engines for the jet is located a short distance from the airport.

Haeco Aviation Services Inc., one of the largest independent commercial jet maintenance and repair service providers in the world, operates a 600,000-square-foot facility at the airport, servicing Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, Lockheed and Airbus aircraft for a number of different passenger and cargo carriers.

Cessna Aircraft Corporation opened its 46,000-square-foot maintenance center at the airport in 1993. Today, it is the major service center for Cessna owners in the mid-Atlantic states and one of 12 worldwide.

Signature TECHNICAir, a division of Signature Flight Support, provides aircraft overhaul, service, and repair from an 80,000 sq. ft. facility. Signature TECHNICAir Greensboro also features several specializations, including a full interior and upholstery shop, advanced avionics installations, and several factory authorizations.
