PIEDMONT TRIAD, NC, January 30, 2026, The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the coming weekend. Passengers planning to depart from the Piedmont Triad International Airport during the significant winter weather event predicted for the coming weekend should call their airline before leaving home to ensure their flight is operating.
PTI snow crews will be on duty around the clock to keep the airport operational. The airport will remain open, and while some flights may continue to operate, the airlines may also cancel flights. We urge customers to check with their airline before driving to the airport.
Airport roadways will be maintained continuously, but passengers should use appropriate caution and drive carefully both at the airport and on their way to and from the airport.
Depending on conditions, the Authority may close the upper level (Departures and Ticketing) and send all vehicles to the lower level, which is better protected from the precipitation. The Premium Deck is currently closed.
The Piedmont Triad International Airport is owned, operated, and managed by the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority. The Authority is governed by a board of directors representing three cities: Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem, and two counties: Forsyth and Guilford. The Airport, located off Bryan Boulevard, is the center of North Carolina’s Aerospace industry.
