Noise Information

In April 2018, the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority began a phased rehabilitation project on Runway 5R/23L, which is normally the primary runway. Phase 1 of the project included closing a portion of the runway for construction while allowing the remaining portion to remain open and operating. However, the reduced length of the runway could force certain aircraft to use Runway 5L/23R. In summer 2018, Phase 2 began and the entire runway was closed. This phase was scheduled to last approximately three months. During this closure, Runway 5L/23R was planned to serve as the primary runway.

Residents near the airport may observe a change in air traffic patterns over the course of this necessary reconstruction project.
