Update on Hurricane Florence

Sep 13, 2018 | Newsroom

For Immediate Release: September 13, 2018

The latest forecast from the National Hurricane Center continues to show Florence tracking toward the southeastern United States.

Most Airlines report that they plan to maintain normal flight schedules; however there have been some cancelations.

Allegiant has canceled flight 834 arriving from Tampa/St. Petersburg and flight 835 to Tampa/St. Petersburg on Friday morning.  American Airlines has canceled some regional flights to/from Charlotte to PTI, however American reports that they will re-book passengers on other flights to/from Charlotte.

Commercial airline carriers are expected to continue operating in and out of the airport as long as flight conditions remain safe and staffing levels are able to accommodate flights.

We strongly encourage travelers to check with their airlines before leaving for the airport to determine if their flights have been delayed or cancelled.

The Authority is taking all precautions possible to prepare for this event and to ensure continuity of airport operations.  The airport will remain open, but it is up to the individual airlines to make decisions on whether or not to operate flights.

Up to date flight information can be found on airlines websites as well as www.flyfrompti.com.  For updates on the airport status follow us @flyfrompti on Twitter.
