The Piedmont Triad Airport Authority extends its sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the donation drive supporting essential federal employees during the recent government shutdown.
Through the generosity of local businesses, airport tenants, and community members, the donation room at PTI was well stocked with food, personal care items, and household supplies. Essential workers were able to visit over the course of two weeks to pick up what they needed.
The Authority also wishes to recognize Samaritan’s Purse for providing free lunches daily to essential workers during the shutdown, as well as the many volunteers and staff who managed the donation room and helped coordinate deliveries.
As operations return to normal, any remaining items from the donation drive will be distributed to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, ensuring that all contributions continue to benefit members of our community.
“This effort really showed the strength and compassion of our community,” said Kevin Baker, Executive Director of the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority. “We’re deeply grateful to everyone who stepped up to support essential workers during a difficult time.”
The Piedmont Triad Airport Authority would like to thank the community once again for its partnership and generosity.
