On July 16, 2025 PTI celebrated the opening of a new exhibit featuring artwork from the talented participants of Monarch’s Studio 651 Day Program in Winston-Salem, N.C. This special gallery, located within the Executive Center on the departure level, showcases an extraordinary collection of paintings and sculptures crafted by artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Their expressive works are a testament to creativity, individuality, and community spirit.
A Glimpse into Studio 651
Studio 651 is one of 17 day programs operated by Monarch across North Carolina. These programs are thoughtfully designed to empower adults with I/DD by nurturing independence, emotional well-being, and physical health. Studio 651 places a unique emphasis on the creative arts from painting and drawing to sculpture providing artists with the tools and guidance to explore their talents.
This exhibit is more than a showcase ,it’s a celebration of expression, communication, and achievement. Creative arts foster connection, improve motor skills, and build self-esteem, allowing the artists of Studio 651 to share their stories in a meaningful way.
About the Exhibit and the Space
The Executive Center at PTI offers complimentary access to a comfortable business center with workspaces for up to six individuals. Conveniently located near the center of the main terminal departure level, the space provides a quiet environment to catch up on work or simply enjoy a moment of reflection amid colorful, inspiring art.
The Studio 651 exhibit will be on display through June 2026, giving travelers ample opportunity to experience this remarkable collection. Many of the works are available for purchase through Monarch’s online shop at ShopMonarch.org.
