Piedmont Triad International Airport Police Department is the region’s premier aviation law enforcement agency. Our full-service law enforcement department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This includes a team of patrol officers, a Communications Center, and specialized units such as K-9, Criminal Investigations, Bike Patrol, Rifle Patrol, and Security/Traffic Enforcement. PTI Police Department maintains a constant state of readiness in response to the needs of passengers as they travel through PTI airport. We are grounded in the precept that we are a service organization with a clear and distinct mission of serving the traveling public and the aviation community.

We are very proud of our K-9 unit and the work they do for our traveling public. Sergeant Trip Hendrix is our most senior K-9 officer. He has been with the PTI K-9 Unit since 2005 and is very knowledgeable about the airport’s program.

The Piedmont Triad International Airport Police Department has the unique mission of providing a safe, secure environment for the traveling public, tenants, and fellow employees of the Piedmont Triad International Airport. It is the Airport Police Department’s duty to protect the inherent rights of all persons objectively and equally while serving the needs of Homeland Security and Civil Aviation.
