Piedmont Triad International Airport | PTI Airport Launches Donation Drive to Support Essential Workers Affected by Government Shutdown

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Piedmont Triad Airport Authority is inviting the Triad community to come together in support of essential federal employees impacted by the ongoing government shutdown. From November 3 through November 7, PTI Airport will host a five-day donation event to collect non-perishable food, household essentials and personal care items for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers and Air Traffic Controllers working without pay.

Donations may be dropped off between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day at the Airport Authority office, located on the departure level inside door #4 of the terminal. Items collected will be stored by the Authority, and essential workers at PTI will be able to visit during those same hours to pick up what they need.

“This is an opportunity to show support for those who help keep our airport safe and operating every day,” said Kevin Baker, Executive Director.

The Authority encourages donations of non-perishable food items, toiletries, and baby supplies. Gift cards and cash will not be accepted. For more information, please contact Stephanie Freeman at 336-665-5644 or freemans@gsoair.org.

The Piedmont Triad International Airport is owned, operated, and managed by the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority. The Authority is governed by a board of directors representing three cities: Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem, and two counties: Forsyth and Guilford. The Airport, located off Bryan Boulevard, is the center of North Carolina Aerospace.
