Causey Aviation, a family-founded business with nearly six decades of service in North Carolina, is taking another step forward with the opening of a new hangar and operations center at PTI this fall.
Founded in 1967 by Benson Causey and his two sons, Winfield and Charlie, the company began with a grass runway on the family farm and a commitment to hard work, safety, and service. Today, Causey Aviation is led by Winfield’s son Jeff and operates a diverse fleet of business aircraft and a robust maintenance division. Causey Aviation makes owning a jet easy and even facilitates shared ownership of jet aircraft among clients. The company’s growth is a testament to its ability to adapt while staying rooted in the values that launched it.
“This new facility at PTI is an exciting milestone for us,” said Jeff Causey, Chief Operating Officer and himself a pilot. “Our family has always believed in building aviation services that balance professionalism with personal care. Expanding at PTI allows us to serve our customers more efficiently and connect with a region that has become one of the fastest-growing aviation hubs in the country.”
The new hangar and support space will house both charter and maintenance operations, as well as fueling, providing greater capacity for corporate and private aviation clients. Causey Aviation’s maintenance team – renowned for its FAA-certified repair station capabilities and decades of expertise – will be a cornerstone of the expansion.
“Our technicians and support staff are passionate about doing the job right the first time,” said Daniel Lambert, Vice President of Maintenance. “PTI’s new facility will give us the tools and space to work on a wider range of aircraft and deliver even more value to our customers.”

Our family has always believed in building aviation services that balance professionalism with personal care.

For Causey Aviation, the move is more than just new square footage, it’s the continuation of a legacy. From a small family farm in Liberty, N.C., to a state-of-the-art hangar at PTI, the company’s trajectory speaks to both resilience and vision. As they prepare to open their doors this fall, Causey Aviation remains firmly committed to what has always set them apart: family values, exceptional service, and a deep love of aviation.
