4 Wrangler Jeansboro Jean Statues Coming to PTI

For Immediate Release: September 26, 2017

The Project:

The Piedmont Triad International Airport and Wrangler are joining forces to bring 4 Jeansboro Jean Statues to the interior of the Airport.   Artists living and working in the Piedmont Triad area are encouraged to participate.

The goal is to encourage and promote the work of local painters and to enhance the feeling of the uniqueness of our community when passengers arrive at PTI.  Appropriate proposals might include the use of representational images to celebrate the community’s history or culture, or abstract and decorative designs celebrating The Triad area and the wonder of flying.

Four finalists will be chosen from all entries and will receive an award of $300. The finished pieces will be located at PTI on both concourses and in each bag claim.

“We see the installation of these pieces as an opportunity to share the artist’s vision of our community and airport through the Jean statues,” said Kevin Baker, Executive Director of the Airport Authority. “It is another opportunity for us to enhance the look and feel of the terminal building through art of regional significance.”
