Shannon Allen joined the Airport Authority May 26, 2021. And although she is new as a full-time employee, she’s no stranger to PTI. Over the past 10 years, Shannon has worked in agency and consultants roles with a couple of organizations supporting PTI’s marketing / advertising efforts, and was the primary contact for Stephanie Freeman for over six years.

In her new role, Shannon will support a long-standing mission of the airport ensuring passengers have the best experience possible when traveling through Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTI). In addition to passenger experience, she will also manage PTI’s internal and external communications such as community and media relations, social media, and web presence, while partnering with Stephanie to support all marketing & advertising efforts including airport events and promotional plans.

“It’s truly a dream come true to gain the opportunity to work for an organization and brand that you have always admired, and believed in” said Shannon. “I’ve wanted to work for PTI for at least six or seven years, and I never knew I would have that opportunity, but now I’m here and I’m thrilled to be a part of the family – and I do mean family because the Airport Authority is so much more than just a team of co-workers.”

Prior to coming to the Airport Authority, Shannon spent over a year at Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), a local non-profit, as Digital Marketing Manager. Before joining CCL she worked with the PTI brand for in various external agency support roles, including account manager and marketing consultant, at two local marketing agencies. Shannon has her Master’s Degree in Marketing – Public Relations, Graduate Certificate in Management and Leadership from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Outside of work, she is actively involved in giving back to her community. Currently, Shannon is serving a 3-year term on the Board of Directors for Pivot Ministry and is a member of the fundraising committee, and serves on the marketing committee for Family Support Network of Central Carolina (FSNCC).
